Your IP (internet protocol) address identifies your computer. It's always useful to know what your IP address is for your PC, as some forms and programs may require this.
Please be aware that IP addresses can be both static or dynamic. If you are an individual rather than a business, the chances are that you have a dynamic IP address, and this means that your IP address will change every time you connect to the internet. Unsurprisingly, a static IP address is one that does not change over time. They are usually used/requested by businesses or web professionals who need to be sure of what their IP address at all times.
