Obviously, you need text on a web page. Having a page that is constructed purely in flash, java-script or of images is next to worthless.

Sure, sites as popular as Facebook can get away with this, but you are not them. Real words rule the roost!

If I had a £ for everyone that has come up to me and said 'My site doesn't get any traffic', only to find that said site has 5 pages and 10 words on a page.....

The keyword Meta Tag is Dead - Long live the keyword?

Google has been reported as no longer considering this tag but tests have proven other major search engines still do. It has also been proven that for very niche key phrases, pages that only feature a keyword in the meta keyword tag get featured within results.

  • Many search engines now ignore this tag.
  • Many major websites don’t bother to include this tag.
  • Overly long tags can appear ‘spam’ and will get penalised.
